The underpinning technologies program focuses on core technology initiatives that will future-proof the University and allow it to keep pace in a dynamic and challenging higher education environment.
The underpinning technologies program plans to achieve the following in 2021:

continue the research storage access and enhancement program

increase UQ’s capability to store and secure larger data sets for research, academic and professional endeavours

continue to uplift UQ’s network capabilities

elevate UQ’s capacity for large-scale virtualised hosting platforms

support the cyber security program by delivering technology required to automate group management

commence a refresh of UQ’s analytics data infrastructure

refresh ITS printers and workstations
-
provide application streaming to address remote working and learning requirements and reduce demand on UQ labs and facilities
-
commence the Evergreen Supercomputing project.
