2018 ‘The UQ Playground Competition’ at The University of Queensland - Competition - Terms and Conditions
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. ENTRY PERIOD: The entry period (Entry Period) for entry into the Promotion commences at 9:00am (Qld time) Wednesday 28th February 2018 and closes 4:30pm (Qld time) Thursday 29th March 2018 (Closing Time).
2. ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is open to members (individuals and groups) of the local Queensland community. There is no age limit applied in this promotion. Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain permission from their parent or guardian to enter. To be eligible to enter the Promotion a person must:-
(a) For individual entries: provide name, age and contact information (email, mailing address and/or contact phone number);
(b) For school or class entries: ensure student name and age is provided on each entry, including school name, address and relevant staff contact details.
The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences will have the right to exclude from the Promotion entries which do not meet those eligibility requirements and which do not meet the method of entry requirements below. Entrants, in entering the Promotion, warrant that they are an eligible entrant. UQ assumes no responsibility for lost or late entries.
3. METHOD OF ENTRY: Eligible entrants wishing to enter the Promotion must:-
(a) Draw pictures and/or write about your ideal or dream playground at UQ would look like.
(b) Entries can be emailed to: Dr Eimear Enright, e.enright@uq.edu.au or mailed to: Dr. Eimear Enright, School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences, Human Movement Studies Building (26B). Blair Drive, University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Queensland, 4072.
(c) Entrants are welcome to confirm in writing, their consent for involvement in future discussions about the development of the co-created playground project.
4. LIMIT ON ENTRIES: A maximum of 3 x submissions per eligible entrant is permitted.
5. PRIZES: Multiple prizes will be awarded, based on Promotion selection criteria. Total prize pool equals $3,000 and will include for example, gift vouchers from entertainment and educational providers, and class pool party and family passes for the Aquatic Centre at UQ. UQ will determine how to allocate the total prize pool at its discretion.
6. SELECTING PRIZE WINNERS
(a) Judging: Prize winners will be judged by a panel of three (3) judges appointed by the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Services.
(d) Criteria: Entries will be judged on:
a. Creativity demonstrated in each submission;
b. Demonstrated potential for community engagement demonstrated through the proposed playground;
c. Demonstration of potential social, physical, cognitive, environmental and other benefits associated with the proposed playground.
(e) Decision: Prize winners will be judged by [Wednesday 16 May 2018]. Prizes will be judged from the entire competition pool of entries received by 4.30pm, Thursday 29 March 2018. This promotion is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. The judges will judge all valid entries individually on their merits. The Promoter may decline to accept any entry which, in its reasonable opinion, does not comply with these Terms.
7. NOTIFICATION OF WINNER: The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences will notify the winners via the email or postal address that was supplied by the winning entrant when submitted (by email or post) their design.
8. PUBLICATION OF WINNER: Winners’ submissions will be published on https://coo.uq.edu.au/playground-competition via the UQ Facebook page, with submissions exhibited locally for the community to view.
9. COLLECTION OF PRIZE:-
(a) The Prize must be collected in person (or as otherwise agreed to by UQ) from the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences located on Blair Drive on UQ’s St Lucia Campus, between the hours of 9am and 4pm.
(b) If a Prize is not collected by 31 May 2018 it will be considered an unclaimed prize and will be forfeited, and the prize may be awarded to the next best entry (as determined by the judges).
10. PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY:-
(a) Personal information provided by an entrant in submitting an entry to the competition will be used for the purpose of administering the competition and for any other purposes referred to in these terms and conditions.
(b) UQ is bound by the Information Privacy Act (Qld) 2009. Its Privacy Management Policy can be located at: http://ppl.app.uq.edu.au/content/1.60.02-privacy-management.
11. RIGHT TO CANCEL COMPETITION: The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences reserves the right to cancel the Promotion if it has reasonable cause to do so.
12 Disclaimer:-
(a) UQ: To the extent permitted by law, The University of Queensland excludes any and all liability to the entrant for any loss, damage or expense suffered by the entrant that arises out of, or relates to, the Competition. The expression “liability” includes liability in contract, tort, pursuant to legislation or otherwise whatsoever.
(b) Social media: The Entrant also releases, discharges Facebook and Instagram from any liability, loss, damage, or expense suffered by the entrant that arises out of, or relates to the Competition.
(c) Social media: The Entrant also acknowledges that the competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
(d) General: Entries which, in the opinion of the Promoter, are incomplete, incorrect or incomprehensible, contain defamatory or offensive content are not eligible to win and may be removed from the Promotion and the relevant entrant will be disqualified.
13 Copyright:-
(a) Entrants warrant that they hold all necessary copyright title or interest in their entry to entitle them to enter it in the competition and to effectively provide UQ with the rights in relation to it provided for in these conditions.
(b) Entrants grant UQ at no cost to UQ a royalty free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use (including reproduce) the entrant’s entry for promotional and educational purposes relating to the competition and the construction of playgrounds, and for promotional purposes relating to future competitions and for any other promotional purposes relating to UQ.
14 Publication of Entrant’s name and details: Entrants consent to their name and the program in which they are enrolled or school (if applicable) being published on the UQ website, Facebook page, and/or Instagram accounts for promotional purposes relating to the competition and for any other purposes that fall within the copyright licence contained in these conditions. -
15 Jurisdiction: This competition is governed by the laws of Queensland.
