The University of Queensland is set to become the first major university in the world to offset 100% of its electricity usage through its own renewable energy asset.

The 154 hectare solar farm site will be located at Sladevale, about 5km north of the Warwick town centre.

It is expected that construction will commence around the end of 2018 with completion expected in early 2020.

General and technical information is available on the Sustainability Projects website.

A dedicated project website has been set up to provide additional information about the development, with monthly updates on the progress of the project.
